Children ages 4, 5, and 6 are invited to join our church's HOPE (Holy Orthodox Primary Education) ministry. The mission of HOPE is to strengthen the relationship of young Orthodox Christians with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The four elements of worship, fellowship, service, and witness will be integrated into the program. The meetings will involve prayer, mini-lessons with movement and discussion, lots of arts and crafts, yummy snacks, and play time with friends. We meet once a month, from October to May. Our meetings are usually the first Saturday of the month, from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. New dates to be announced. In the past, we have read parts of the Bible and reenacted those parts with puppet shows, painted ceramic crosses, wrote poetry, learned about the lives of several Saints, made icons, planted flowers and decorated our own flower pots, made keychains, and we even made our own chocolate lollipops. Also, we have taken fun trips like mini-golfing at Harbor Links in Port Washington, and going to see the Gazillion Bubble show in Manhattan. If you have any questions, or need more information, please contact advisor Millie Gianoukakis at hawaiianhoneymoon2000@yahoo.com.

  • Scouting: Our parish is proud to sponsor Boy Scout Troop #72 and Cub Scout Pack #72, community based units that do all the usual Scout things. In addition, they include activities special to an Orthodox sponsored unit – such as the annual Eastern Orthodox Scout Retreat, trips to Holy Cross Seminary in Massachusetts, preparation for the Orthodox awards, etc. Though we do not sponsor directly Girl Scouts, we do have our affiliated Girl Scout Troop in which our parishioners serve and participate.
