2024 August 14 Camp G-1 Day 3
Glory to God for All Things!
Another beautiful day of Camp G+1 has come to a close, and we cannot be more grateful to the Lord for the beautiful spirit of love, teamwork, and fun which radiated from everyone at Camp G+1.
Today was Greek day— our Hellenic Pride levels were off the Charts!
In Greek Appreciation, the children kicked off their Greek Dance lessons in style with Zeibekiko, followed by “Isios” from Dodekanissa, “Sta Tria” from Epiros, & “Patima” from Limnos. In preparing for the Camp G+1 Olympics on Friday, the children watched scenes from the opening ceremony of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
Marshmallows dipped in liquid nitrogen were on the menu today in Spiritual Science with “Papa Science”. (No marshmallows were harmed in the process).
Call the Academy, because after today’s Parables Skits from the Gosepls with Fr. Panteleimon, we can see that our children have some serious acting skills.
Arts & Crafts was converted to a bakery today, as our children kneaded, sealed, and baked (with the help of the ladies of the parish), the prosphora that will be used for tomorrow’s Liturgy to become the Holy Body and Blood of Christ in Holy Communion. What a beautiful gesture by our children to offer the bread for Communion and antidoron on the occasion o Panagia’s feast day, as we celebrate her repose from this life and the translation of her body into the heavenly Kingdom.
May our children and community have her blessing always, and may her love and peace be with all our families forever. Amen
